About genQRC

genQRC is a free QR code generator built by an independent developer based in France. The project started with a simple observation: most QR code generators either lock basic features behind a paywall or collect user data through mandatory account creation. genQRC does neither. Every tool on this site is completely free, requires no registration, and processes all data locally in your browser.

What We Offer

Nine dedicated generators cover the most common QR code types: URLs, plain text, WiFi credentials, vCard contacts, email, SMS, phone calls, geographic locations, and calendar events. Each generator includes full customization options: dot patterns, eye styles, custom colors, logo overlay, and frame text. Downloads are available as high-resolution PNG or JPG files with no watermark.

Privacy by Design

Every QR code is generated entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The data you enter (URLs, phone numbers, WiFi passwords, contact details) never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server. There is no backend processing, no database storage, and no analytics on the content of your codes. The only network requests are for loading the page itself, Google Fonts for typography, and optional Google Analytics for aggregate traffic statistics.

Technical Foundation

The QR encoding engine uses the QRious library for matrix generation, enhanced with a custom rendering layer for dot patterns, eye styles, logo overlay, frame drawing, and color customization. All CSS and JavaScript are loaded inline for maximum performance: once the page loads, the generator works even without an internet connection. The site is hosted on standard web infrastructure with no dynamic server components.

Learning Resources

Beyond the generators, genQRC offers a growing library of guides and reference material. The size guide explains how to choose the right print dimensions. The error correction guide covers the four resilience levels. The business guide and marketing guide help organizations deploy QR codes effectively. The QR vs barcode comparison clarifies when each technology is the right choice.

Open and Independent

genQRC has no investors, no venture capital, and no pressure to convert free users into paying customers. The site is supported by non-intrusive advertising and will remain free for as long as it exists. If you find a bug, have a suggestion, or want to say hello, use the contact page.
